Sophia Kaounas of Brookings Helps Ripon College Ethics Bowl Team Place 11th in Nation

Ripon College's Ethics Bowl Team placed 11th in the country at the national tournament held in Jacksonville, Fla., in February.

Ripon qualified for nationals for the third consecutive year by winning the Upper Midwest regional tournament in Chicago, defeating more than 20 other schools. Only 32 colleges and universities earned bids to attend the national tournament in a highly competitive process. The team comprised SOPHIA KAOUNAS '14 of Brookings, S.D.; CONNOR CUMMISKEY '16 of Hamburg, Minn.; ZACH MATSON '17 of Minnetonka, Minn.; and JJ GRINDE '17 of Ripon, Wis.

Sophia Kaounas is a Senior Politics and Government major at Ripon College, and is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Kostas T. Kaounas of Brookings, SD.
