Kevin Whiteneir of Chicago, IL, receives award at Ripon College Award Convocation

2014 May 12

Kevin Whiteneir, a Junior majoring in Art History and Anthropology at Ripon College from Chicago, IL, received the 2014 Achievement Award in Art and the David L. and Elizabeth W. Harris Memorial Scholarship during the College's annual Awards Convocation, held April 17, 2013.

A book award is given to the student who has shown superior enthusiasm and creativity in the visual arts. Credit toward tuition, a certificate and a plaque is awarded to a junior who demonstrates interest and enthusiasm for learning about life, possesses good character, and shows a concern for the well-being of others. From 1954 to 1983, David L. Harris, dean of men and professor of psychology, unselfishly gave of himself so that Ripon College students might achieve their full potential. He was dedicated to their feelings, dreams and hopes, and became a course of strength to all who needed him.

Whiteneir is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin T. Whiteneir Sr. of Chicago, IL.
