Katie Warczak of Oshkosh Qualifies for American Forensics Association National Competition

Katie Warczak of Oshkosh, WI, will compete in the American Forensics Association Nationals, held April 4-7 at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. Warczak is a Sophomore History English major at Ripon College, and is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Michael W. Warczak of Oshkosh, WI.

Ripon College's Forensics Team will send a total of six students to nationals following the American Forensic Association (AFA) District IV National Qualifier, hosted by UW-Eau Claire. Ripon College ranked second only to the host school in earning final round spots and advancing students to national competition.

Ripon's team has had a very active and successful second semester, finishing second out of 18 schools at St. Cloud State University, advancing 20 events to final rounds at the collegiate state championships, and now advancing six students with 12 events to the AFA National Tournament held this year at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ.

  • Senior David Garcia, at-large national qualifier, extemporaneous speaking
  • Senior David Garcia, at-large national qualifier, impromptu speaking
  • Junior Katie Biedler, at-large national qualifier, communication analysis
  • Sophomore Katie Warczak, 3rd place and automatic national qualifier, impromptu speaking
