Jacquelyn Michalak of Hartford Performs in College All Star Band

Jacquelyn Michalak, a Senior Chemistry-Biology major at Ripon College, performed in the tenth annual College All Star Band of the National Band Association – Wisconsin Chapter (NBA-WC), held Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Lincoln High School Performing Arts Center in Wisconsin Rapids.

Michalak played the clarinet in the All Star Band. She is from Hartford, WI, and is the daughter of Timothy and Annemarie Michalak.

Each year, the All Star Band attracts more than 90 of the state's top college and university band students and conductors. Selection for the band is competitive and requires the successful submission of student and conductor applications.

This year's All Star Band included students from 14 colleges and universities around Wisconsin. The band was conducted by Erik Janners, Marquette University; Kristin Tjornehoj, University of Wisconsin-River Falls; James Ripley, Carthage College; and Russell Pettitt, Lakeland College.

The annual event has proven to be an exciting showcase event for both students and conductors, with college and university conductors sharing the podium. The performance takes place during the convention of the NBA-WC.
