Anna Debruyn of Green Bay, WI To Perform with the Ripon College Symphonic Wind Ensemble, April 13

2014 Apr 4

Anna Debruyn, a First Year Undeclared major at Ripon College from Green Bay, WI, will perform with the Ripon College Symphonic Wind Ensemble under the direction of Carl Rath, April 13. Debruyn is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Craig DeBruyn of Green Bay, WI.

The concert will begin at 3:15 p.m. in Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts, on the Ripon College campus. Admission to the concert is free.

Concert selections include "Americans We," a march by Henry Fillmore, "Festival Prelude," by Alfred Reed, "Longing For Sunrise," by Daniel Baldwin, "impulse," by Bradley Meholick; and "Film Music Suite," by Francis Clifford. "Film Music Suite" is a crowd-pleaser in four movements, each of which highlights a different type of music used in films. "Horror" brings to mind the music heard in early classics, such as "Frankenstein." "Romance" is very melodic and touches the heart. "Comedy" sounds like circus music, and "Adventure" will bring to mind the music heard in Indiana Jones films.

Soloists will include Zach Conners '15 of Hollandale, Wis., on flute; Alex Patza '15 of Shiocton, Wis., on alto sax; Sophie Klingenberger '14 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on horn; and Noah DeBruyn '17 of Green Bay Wis., on oboe.
